I am proud to say she is a part of an organization that teaches these qualities and presents itself in such a respectful and honorable manner."Carole Smith (Abbey Scott's grandmother)
"Our experience with the Danielson Martial Arts Academy has been a pleasurable family atmosphere with excellent attention to detail. A wonderful black belt and apprentice staff is always willing to help and teach. "The Estrada Family

"Karate is the best sport I ever took. It takes a lot of practice and work, but if you try hard enough you could get your black belt. Join the Danielson Martial Arts Academy today because it's really fun. "Anna Senay
"We would personally like to commend Master Daryl Laperle and Danielson Martial Arts Academy for instilling confidence and self esteem to our son, 1st Dan black belt Cody White. We have been with the DMAA family since January of 2002, and feel like we are just as big a part of the school as the students. Master Laperle and all of the Black Belt staff at DMAA treat all of their students with respect and instill a strong feeling of self worth and discipline, all in a fun and family type atmosphere. We would recommend DMAA and Cheezic Tang Soo Do to anyone wanting to learn martial arts the correct way."Marc and Robin Coderre
"Once you watch Master Laperle and his black belts teaching, you want to be part of it. Master Laperle teaches discipline, respect, and self-confidence. My three children and I are very proud to be part of the DMAA family."
- Alison Lane
"After research of several martial arts facilities in the area, we chose DMAA. My daughter and I liked the family atmosphere and individual attention students received. Other schools seem to focus on intense sparring, non-contact Karate or kickboxing, not on traditional karate values, like DMAA. We have been with DMAA for some time now, and I can honestly say we have never questioned our decision."
-Bob Senay
"When my daughter joined karate, LeeAnn was very quiet and shy. Now, she has gained confidence and self-esteem through the values she has been taught by the wonderful instructors at Danielson Martial Arts Academy."
-Lisa Krauss
"Deciding to join the Danielson Martial Arts Academy has been one of the better decisions my husband and daughter have made. Under the expert instruction and guidance of Chief Instructor Master Daryl Laperle, Master Gary Guay and the areas finest black belts, they are learning much more than karate, and have become part of the DMAA family. I would recomend this academy to anyone who wants to become part of an organization that truly cares about it's individuals, families and community and represents itself in this manner."

Our Code Of Conduct
In the martial arts world, being "the best" has many dimensions. Stated simply the most important dimension is for all those who take part, athletes as well as their families, to strive to do their level best to understand and to follow the traditions, the basic values, the common decency which are part of all martial art study. It comes down to all those associated with the martial arts world having respect for one another, respect among pupils, instructors, masters, respect up and down. It means having deep respect for the many traditions, respect for all who participate no matter what level they have achieved or may achieve. The key is in individual striving. There's so much more to the martial arts than kicking, punching, blocking, etc. It is a way for all involved to get to know themselves better, to appreciate their own individual strengths and weaknesses as well as those of others. Trophies don't make you "the best," but working hard, constantly striving to improve, and truly loving the world of martial arts are really what count. Those are the values we try to teach.
Our Martial Art is a style designed to promote health, discipline and a greater sense of respect for oneself and others. The correct attitude for a student at our Academy is reflected in the following principles of the Danielson Martial Arts Academy:
1.) Be loyal to your country
2.) Be obedient to your parents.
3.) Hold your teachers in the highest regard.
4.) Focus and discipline in and out of class.
5.) Realize Self-Confidence. YOU ARE A WINNER
6.) Treat others with respect and courtesy, as you would yourself.
7.) Constantly strive to improve yourself and help others.
We accept absolutely everyone willing to learn to better themselves and be part of our team. Our classes represent many people on the road to being the best they can be. We are pleased that you have chosen to be part of us making us better! Thank you for choosing to be part of the D.M.A.A. Family.
One of the most special occasions is when we are permitted to display our talents in front of our Grand Master Cheezic. As a student, if you are spoken to by the Grand Master, he should be held in great respect. Please remember to address him as Sir, keep your response brief, and always bow. It is directly because of his efforts that we are able to learn this discipline.
ALWAYS REMEMBER: Wherever you go you represent our Academy and yourself as a person. The impression most people get of our Academy is directly through the way YOU conduct yourself... BE A SERIOUS AND RESPONSIBLE STUDENT BECAUSE ALL OF US TOGETHER ARE THE SCHOOL!!!

How Did Danielson Martial arts get started
THE HISTORY OF OUR SCHOOL begins in 1974 in Canterbury under the direction of Master Steven Bardsley, student of Master Cheezic. The Danielson Karate Club, as it was known then, moved to Maple Street in Danielson and shortly afterwards to the American Legion Hall.
In 1982, the school moved once again to the Elks club in Danielson under the guidance of Master Joseph Johnson, the former student of Master Bardsley. The school stayed at that location for years until Master Gary Guay, former student of Master Johnson, became Chief Instructor in 1987.
Under Master Guay's instruction we became the Danielson Martial Arts Academy and in 1990, moved to Maple Street once again. During that time our Academy sent a group of Black Belts, including 1st Dan Black Belt Daryl Laperle to compete with the United States Karate Team in Eastern Europe.
In 1993, the academy was moved to Central Village. In May 1994, Master Daryl Laperle, former student of Master Guay, took over leadership of the Academy. In 1999, Master Laperle expanded the Academy to a second school in Dayville to re-establish our presence in the Danielson area. In 2000, the two schools were combined into one location in Danielson, with over 5000 square feet of floor space, making it one of the largest Martial Arts facilities in New England. Under Master Laperle's leadership, the Academy has become a cornerstone in Northeast Connecticut, and has even hosted two Cheezic Tang Soo Do Federation Black Belt Gradings, considered a high honor within the Federation. Members of our academy have since traveled to Australia, China, and Bermuda for international competition and training, as well as Ireland, Italy and Poland on martial arts related trips. In February 2007, the Danielson Martial Arts Academy was awarded Cheezic Tang Soo Do Federations' School of the Year, the highest award that can be given to a federation school. With over 20 active black belts, D. M. A. A. boasts the largest instructional staff in any martial arts school in Connecticut.
The leadership of our federation is an unbroken line of student becoming teacher and furthering our goal of being the most disciplined and well trained Martial Artists in our Federation.
